Makeovers

Junior high and high school are not always the easiest times for teenagers. As a mom my heart aches when I see our girls have hard days. Friends are sometimes mean. Boys are sometimes dorks. School is sometimes hard. Then on top of that they have issues at home: a brother who teases them, a mother who lectures them, a father who gives them chores. These things are all normal for every teenager. But then we add extra trials. Perhaps you have lost a sister. Perhaps your parents have gone through a divorce. Perhaps your mom has breast cancer.
So Joey watches our youngest girls trying to be brave every day. And in state of concern he was expressing his desire to do something to make them feel special. He wanted them to feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside. He wanted them to feel confident and brave regardless of boys, friends, school, and cancer. His assistant, Dani offered to come give the girls makeover. She cut their hair, styled it, did their make-up, and painted their nails.
Dani was at our home for four hours spoiling our girls and made them feel so special. I am so blessed to have a husband and father in our home that doesn't put his own needs first but is always thinking of things he can do for those that he loves. And for Dani to give up a Saturday to come and share her talents.
